Mayor Ralph van Assen

Ralph is not new to small town life, having moved here in 2008. With a background in farming, an Alberta boy at heart, Ralph says Warburg feels quite like home.  Ralph believes the importance of everyone being involved in the process of local government. “The more input we get from our residents, the more the decisions we make will be in line with what is needed on our community. Ralph is here to listen and learn, and to act on the         resident’s behalf.  Ralph is the father of five, the grandfather of 20, and has one great-grandchild.


Deputy Mayor Fred Rapati

Fred is  on his 5th year with council and a long time resident of the Village of Warburg where he is the manager at Martin Deerline.  Fred and his wife Nicole of 28 years, have raised their two daughters here and are proud grandparents to a wonderful granddaughter.  Fred enjoys our quiet community and his involvement with such events as our Annual parade and Christmas Light Up.  In Fred’s spare time he enjoys rebuilding old cars and volunteering for Skate Canada.


Councillor Dwayne Mayr

Dwayne is new to council but not new to the Village of Warburg.  As a business owner at Auxillium Alliance Corporation, a father and a grandfather, he along with his wife and family are also very active in the community.


Councillor Kevin Maine

Kevin is in his 3rd year on Council and enjoys his involvement in disaster services  planning.  Kevin and his wife have lived in the area for a long time, and are actively involved in the curling club as well as other community events.


Councillor Tina Smith

Tina was born in Toronto and grew up in Aurora Ontario.  She moved to Alberta in 1980 and has called Warburg “HOME” for the last 24 years.  Tina is a mother of 3 and has 3 grandchildren.  Tina works in town at Auxilium Alliance Corp, is going into her 3rd year on Council and can be found running and enjoying time with her grandchildren.


Administration & Staff

Municipal Administrator Christine Pankewitz

Chris  was born and raised in the community, is married and has also raised  their 2  children  (both married and therefore gaining a wonderful daughter  in law and son in law) in the Warburg area.  She is  blessed with 5   wonderful grandchildren, 4 grandsons out numbering her one and only granddaughter.  “Spending time with my grandkids is my favorite hobby! It is so true that being a grandma is simply amazing!”  Chris enjoys living close to 3 of her grandsons, camping, quadding, curling and volunteering for the community.  She has been involved in the community from a young age including volunteering for the school, hockey, baseball, Ag Society, United Church, Arena Board, FCSS as well as other community events.

Chris began working for the Village part time in 1988, and accepted the Municipal Administrator position in 1995.  Chris truly loves and enjoys working in the community and believes that Warburg is a wonderful and safe place to live, work and play.


FCSS/Recreation Coordinator Terri Syniak

Terri was born and raised in the community.  Terri was a teacher for 30 years, specializing in special ed and counselling.  She has been working as our FCSS / Recreation Coordinator for the past 3 years and enjoys helping others in our community.


Administrative Assistant Nicole Rapati

Nicole is a long time village resident who has been working at the office for 17 years.  In her spare time Nicole is a figure skating judge, evaluator and technical controller.


Administrative Assistant Tasha Harrop 

Tasha was born and raised in the Warburg area.  She has been working for the Village since April of 2015 and enjoys interacting with our residents each day.  Tasha is a member of the Warburg & District Parks and Rec Board as well as the Pioneer Ag Society and enjoys volunteering, camping, and spending time with her family.
